In recent years, technology has profoundly transformed how we experience, engage with, and distribute music. From the widespread adoption of streaming services to innovations in live show production, these changes have redefined the music industry’s landscape.

While some advancements have introduced new opportunities for artists and audiences alike, others have raised concerns about their long-term impact on music communities and ecosystems. Platformization of music has globally reshaped revenue models, often disadvantaging creators by funneling income toward corporations and digital platforms.

The Live Music Research project seeks to explore how these technological changes, particularly the digital assetization of music, are affecting live music ecosystems from a grassroots perspective.
